An insolvency announcement is a statutory public notice by the insolvency court. It concerns a particular procedural step and should be read with its date and complete contents.
Meaning and context
Provisional measures, opening proceedings and other decisions are different stages. Reference to an insolvency application does not automatically mean proceedings have opened.
What the documents show
A notice may identify the court, case number, debtor and decision. The court case number is not the commercial register number. Liquidation is also not a synonym for insolvency.
Research tip
Check identity, court, date and subsequent decisions. Online notices are subject to statutory search and deletion rules. An unsuccessful search is therefore not comprehensive confirmation that insolvency proceedings never existed.
