A Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts is a partnership based on a partnership agreement. A GbR entered in the Gesellschaftsregister uses the designation eingetragene Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts or eGbR.
Meaning and context
Not every GbR is registered. Registration matters for certain further register transactions, including entry as a right holder in the land register. An eGbR does not thereby become a GmbH or acquire a general limitation of liability.
What the documents show
The Gesellschaftsregister entry records details including name, seat, address, partners and representation. An HRB commercial register extract is therefore not the appropriate record for an ordinary eGbR.

First establish whether the partnership is registered. Search for an eGbR using its register court and Gesellschaftsregister number, and compare the representation details.
